Dr Meliz Arisoylu

Meliz is an experienced researcher with an interest in the applications of traditional medicines to address novel indications in high unmet need populations.

Prior to joining Pangea Botanica, Meliz spent eight years as a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Westminster, investigating the mitochondrial effects of a range of natural compounds and formulations in metabolic disease, including a traditional Chinese medicine formula targeting Covid-19. In addition, she worked to establish a multivariant health index, based on bioenergetic information and molecular data, and investigated the effects of acetate on cancer metabolism and cell differentiation.

Meliz is a member of the Royal Society of Biology, and holds a PhD and MSc from Imperial College London in metabolic engineering. She has more than ten publications to her name in the field of acetate metabolism and medicinal plants.
